Sounds Like Praying Needs to Start NOW!

The one thing Christians have on their side in the quickly-fomenting atmosphere of hate, terror, bigotry, and worse is prayer. Can you imagine what a massive multitude of like-minded Catholics/Christians/Jews could do with fervent, daily prayer for our president, our country, and the world? Anyone up for a 365-day Novena beginning July 13, 2019?

Praying for Our President and Country

For Wisdom During U.S. Presidential Elections

God of Justice,
Protector and Redeemer,
Grant guidance to our nation
As we select leaders,
Senators, Congresspersons and a President,
The men and women who promise
To uphold the Constitution,
To uphold our values,
To serve and to govern,
To bring prosperity to our land,
To protect our homes and secure our future.

Grant wisdom and courage to voters
To select a visionary President
And steadfast leaders,
People who will serve our citizens,
And all who reside within our borders,
With honor and integrity
To forge a flourishing and peaceful future.

Bless our future President with
Wisdom and strength,
Fortitude and insight,
Balanced by a deep humanity
And a love of peace,
Leading us to a time
When liberty and equality will
Reign supreme throughout the land.

God of Truth,
Source and Shelter,
Grant safety and security to all nations,
So that truth and harmony will resound
From the four corners of the earth.
Let the light of our U.S. democracy
Shine brightly,
A beacon of hope
For every land and every people.

God Bless, Pope Benedict XVI

In your charity, please pray for today’s intention, Rev. Fr. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Jesus, Savior of the world, sanctify Thy priests and sacred ministers.

V. Remember, O Lord, Thy congregation.
R. Which Thou hast possessed from the beginning.

Let us pray.
O Lord Jesus, born to give testimony to the Truth, Thou who lovest unto the end those whom Thou hast chosen, kindly hear our prayers for our pastors.
Thou who knowest all things, knowest that they love Thee and can do all things in Thee who strengthens them.

Sanctify them in Truth. Pour into them, we beseech Thee, the Spirit whom Thou didst give to Thy apostles, who would make them, in all things, like unto Thee.
Receive the homage of love which they offer up to Thee, who hast graciously received the threefold confession of Peter.

And so that a pure oblation may everywhere be offered without ceasing unto the Most Holy Trinity, graciously enrich their number and keep them in Thy love, who art one with the Father and the Holy Ghost, to whom be glory and honor forever.
Amen.

Do YOU Pray for Our President?

https://stream.org/call-pray-president-trump/

There are many ‘christians’ in the world but how many are CHRISTIANS? In all the mud slinging coming from the media and the left, how many people realize that as Christians we have a God-given obligation to pray . . . especially for those people who have been duly elected to guide and help our country.

Those of us who did and will continue to support President Trump probably have a story or two about friends and family who have slighted you or turned entirely away from you because you can’t see anything wrong in following the current battle cry, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

As Christians, we do have a God-given obligation to pray for both the people we like and those we aren’t quite so happy about. Yet, I’ve heard people denigrate our current president and got a very strong impression that any prayers they might be inclined to pray would not include any intercession for President Trump? And, why not? He might not have been your first choice in 2016 but he is the President and he literally could be standing between the people of our country and the eventual downfall of our country. God listens to sincere prayer but He also ‘helps him who helps himself’ and denying prayer for the leader of our country doesn’t seem to be a productive choice in life.

I’ve had relatives stop talking to us because they KNEW we’d vote the more pro-life of the candidates in 2016. Even a few ‘catholic’ friends stopped talking to us. Seems to me that this sort of reaction is superficial and unbecoming to people who were raised better. They have forgotten that God’s Will and prayer goes a long way to making situations in life work for the best. Sadly, however, they have the ‘all ways, are my ways’ mentality which doesn’t help towards cultivating a prayer life to work with God’s ultimate plan for the world about which we know nothing because God is still in charge. Hey, pray for the best without telling God how to do it and see what happens and then recognize the good in life when it is given to you.
