Liberal Ramblings . . .

I was talking to a liberal and, as usual, tried to keep topics on a bland level rather than incur the rabid responses we have come to expect from them. I mentioned an interesting item in the news about a fast food place that had put a sign in their window that was causing a lot of debated in their town. The offensive sign? The sign said that uniformed police would get their meals free here. The person I was talking with said, “Well, if that place wants to give the police special privileges, that’s their business.” Somewhat surprised at the response, I said, “I would call it more of a ‘thank you’ to the on-duty police who protect their city.” The other person said, “They are only giving them special privileges because they wear a uniform not because they are necessarily good policemen.” I mused, “Well, what if they just quietly gave the police a ‘paid in full’ receipt and didn’t advertise it on the door?” My friend replied, “Would still be a special privilege since they only honor uniforms.”

You have to wonder who some of these liberal-minded people are going to call if someone assaults them or breaks into their home. Perhaps, they can demand a plain-clothed policeman?

War And No Peace – College Style

When I was growing up, I was always told by my mother that physical confrontations weren’t a sign of strength but evidence of a lack of intelligence. She said that when someone lashes out with their fists, it’s usually because they don’t have the brain power to make a substantive reply. A look at what is going on in the world around us today reveals that the bully tactic is in full play with very little brain power behind it.

During the recent presidential campaign, the Democratic supporters resorted to violence at President Trump’s rallies instead of concentrating on supporting their own candidate. All it took was the sighting of a Trump hat to set them off to physically assault people who were just exercising their right to have a say in the election results.

The college students are spending more time being incensed by reality and taking it out in physical violence and destruction of property. They are being subsidized by loving parents in order to attend institutions of higher learning while degrading themselves with revolting language, inciting destruction of property and beating up any opposition. Of course, when confronted, they always have their safe spaces and hot cocoa waiting.

Whenever a speaker is invited to a campus, these days, if the ‘children’ don’t approve, they burn down college buildings, destroy property, and threaten the speaker. Actually, I think they either do not understand what the speaker might represent or are afraid he/she might be using words to argue that might strain the limitations of their brains. Instinctively, they may be concerned they will learn something which would mess up their angry mind set.

Even many of the professors egg the students on with biased pieces of education and give them their view of the world which they must adhere to in order to pass the class.

Seems to me that when manners fled the world and four-letter words became every day vocabulary, it blunted the brain waves and opened up empty heads to violent reactions in response to concepts they couldn’t understand.

Respect God, Listen to Reason, Save Our Country

The world has truly been turned upside down these last almost eight years. Freedoms are eroded, military and police are disrespected, unemployment statistics are not truthful, taxes are a burden yet they go to sponsoring sudden imports of refugees at the expense of our veterans and their care. Constitutional Amendments are pared down to benefit the criminal not the citizen. Here are a few facts from the Internet from thinking people but how many people will believe what goes against the personal, erroneous agendas they are more comfortable with? How many will up their prayer time as goodness knows, the refrain today is  most assuredly, “God help us!”

Our Police – Always On Call, Not Always Respected

“Today, I will not answer the radio call that your boyfriend has come home drunk and is beating you again. Today I will not answer the radio call that your 16 year old daughter, who is very responsible, is four hours late coming home from school. Today I will not answer the radio call that your store has been robbed or your house has been burglarized. Today I will not stop a drunk driver from killing someone. I will not catch a rapist or a murderer or a car thief. Today I will not answer the radio call that a man has a gun or tried to abduct a child or that someone has been stabbed or has been in a terrible accident. Today I will not save your child that you locked in a car or the child you were to busy to watch who went outside and fell into the swimming pool, but that I revived. No, today I will not do that.
Why?

Because Today I was killed by a drunk driver while I was helping push a disabled car off the highway. Today I was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop to simply tell someone that they had a taillight out. Today I was killed in a traffic accident rushing to help a citizen. Today I was shot and killed serving a warrant on a known drug dealer. Today I was killed by a man when I came by to do a welfare check because his family was to busy.

Today I was killed trying to stop a bank robbery or a grocery store robbery. Today I was killed doing my job.

A chaplain and an officer will go to a house and tell a mom and dad or a wife or husband or a child that their son or daughter or husband or wife or father or mother won’t be coming home today.

The flags at many police stations were flown at half-mast today but most people won’t know why. There will be a funeral and my fellow officers will come, a twenty-one-gun salute will be given, and taps will be played as I am laid to rest. My name will be put on a plaque, on a wall, in a building, in a city somewhere. A folded flag will be placed on a mantel or a bookcase in a home somewhere and a family will mourn.

There will be no cries for justice. There will be no riots in the streets. There will be no officers marching, screaming “no justice, no peace.” No citizens will scream that something must be done. No windows will be smashed, no cars burned, no stones thrown, no names called. Only someone crying themselves to sleep tonight will be the only sign that I was cared about.
I was a police officer.”
