Are You a Practicing Catholic or a Social Catholic? Your Vote Would Show You.

Not that we shouldn’t already know this but for the Catholics who vote without thought to how their Faith may view HOW they vote, here is a thought:

Cardinal Ratzinger, who became Pope Benedict XVI in 2005 wrote a letter in 2004 forbidding Catholics from voting for pro-abortion candidates.

The Church teaches that abortion or euthanasia is a grave sin. The Encyclical Letter Evangelium vitae, with reference to judicial decisions or civil laws that authorize or promote abortion or euthanasia, states that there is a “grave and clear obligation to oppose them by conscientious objection. […] In the case of an intrinsically unjust law, such as a law permitting abortion or euthanasia, it is therefore never licit to obey it, or to ‘take part in a propaganda campaign in favor of such a law or vote for it’” (no. 73).

Christians have a “grave obligation of conscience not to cooperate formally in practices which, even if permitted by civil legislation, are contrary to God’s law. Indeed, from the moral standpoint, it is never licit to cooperate formally in evil. […] This cooperation can never be justified either by invoking respect for the freedom of others or by appealing to the fact that civil law permits it or requires it” (no. 74).

Then Cardinal Ratzinger reinforces his opinion in the footnote:
[N.B. A Catholic would be guilty of formal cooperation in evil, and so unworthy to present himself for Holy Communion, if he were to deliberately vote for a candidate precisely because of the candidate’s permissive stand on abortion and/or euthanasia. When a Catholic does not share a candidate’s stand in favor of abortion and/or euthanasia, but votes for that candidate for other reasons, it is considered remote material cooperation, which can be permitted in the presence of proportionate reasons.

Fr. Jay Scott Newman reinforced Cardinal Ratzinger’s letter in 2008:
“Voting for a pro-abortion politician when a plausible pro-life alternative exists constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil, and those Catholics who do so place themselves outside of the full communion of Christ’s Church and under the judgment of divine law.”

Blaming the Wrong People – Biden Has It Wrong . . . Again!

Whenever Biden takes a definite stance, it is usually wrong. With a lack of jobs in the country, why would putting more people on the market help? And, to top it off, he demeans the job of full-time mothers who dedicate their lives to raising strong citizens themselves than chancing the health and mental well being of them in daycare. Real, working, stay-at-home mothers are not pampered or lazy. I can tell you from my own experience that staying home seldom provided me with hours of down time in front of the television. Often, everyone would be long in bed and I would still be up getting things ready for the next day. As usual, Biden hasn’t bothered to think before he spoke.

FROM THE NEWS: Biden made his remarks during a campaign event for Hillary Clinton at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Tuesday. “The state of our economy could be characterized by a single word: pitiful,” he argued. “We’re still battling recession, I don’t care what the official stats are saying, America is still in recession. And we’re not doing anything about it.”

He added that it was “lazy American women” who brought about the downfall of the economy, because “they sit around on their behinds, doing nothing and squandering their days away when they could be improving the country that has given so much to them.” “I’m not sure how exactly we got to this point, but we’re here and we need to move. Like, yesterday,” he said.

“Mark my words and mark them well,” he addressed the crowd. “Hillary Clinton is the only one who can force American women to go to work. This is true because of a number of reasons. First, she’s a woman herself and not just any woman; she’s a self-made woman. So you better believe what she’s saying is true and has been tried and tested in practice plenty of times.”

“Second, Hillary Clinton understands how difficult it can be to give up the status of a free-loader when your husband is the bread-winner of the household and the wife is expected to tend to the house, the children, make sure dinner is served and always be in the mood for marital duties. She’s been all that and she’s learned how to break free from it, the hard way, I might add,” Biden continued.

“Today’s women are pampered and aren’t used to rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done on their own,” the vice president said. “They’re too dependent, too weak and too lazy to contribute to the economy. The reason for that is they’ve learned how to manipulate men by employing one of the most fundamental laws of economics: when a sought-after commodity becomes short in supply, the demand for it rises even higher.”

“Now, that’s all fine and dandy when it comes to their personal interests, but if you look at the big picture, it’s the economy that’s missing out on valuable workforce. And that’s why we need to get them off their lazy behinds and get them into their workplaces. And like I said, Hillary Clinton is the only one who can do it, which is what makes her the ideal candidate for the next President of the United States. We need to heal this country, folks, not run it into the ground even deeper,” Biden concluded.

The World is Already Being Destroyed!

I know there are voters who emote instead of think but to actually speak with one today was still shocking to my conservative BUT informed system. There is a cashier at one of the stores we shop who we have gotten to know a bit over the years. He is adamantly Catholic and supposedly Republican . . . except this election. He is voting for Hillary. I said that she is strongly in favor of abortion at any stage and plans to increase taxpayer support of it. He said that he is more afraid of a nuclear holocaust under a Trump administration than abortion. I’m thinking to myself that he actually said he would sacrifice the sure death of the unborn babies on the off chance that Hillary, herself, won’t do anything stupid. He says he doesn’t want to see the end of the world and unborn seemingly, in his view, are an election byproduct that doesn’t matter all that much. I mentioned that Hillary had been rather free with top secret information and he said that doesn’t matter in the long run. I wonder if he had even stopped to think of the stupidity of his stance. He thinks there is a strong chance of Trump exploding the world and destroying generations of people. Worldwide, since 1973, over one point two billion babies have been aborted. Sounds like a generation or two has already been destroyed.

It is sad. The gentlemen is a very prayerful Catholic but is dipping into the heresy of liberalism because he is afraid rather than voting for life and trusting in God.

St Bridget: The 12-year Prayer

Saint Bridget of Sweden, the great 14th century Mystic and Visionary, was given a set of Prayers by Our Divine Lord, to be prayed for 12 years. These prayers are meditations on the seven times that Christ shed His Precious Blood on our account. To the one who will say the set of prayers daily for 12 years, these graces are promised:

1) The soul who prays them suffers no purgatory.

2) The soul who prays them will be accepted among the Martyrs as though he had spilled his blood for his faith.

3) The soul who prays them can choose three others whom Jesus will then keep in a state of grace sufficient to become holy.

4) No-one in the four successive generations of the soul who prays them will be lost.

5) The soul who prays them will be made conscious of his death one month in advance.
If the suppliant should die before the allotted span, God the Father will accept them as having been prayed in their entirety, as the genuine intention was there. If a day or a few days are missed for a valid reason, they can be made up later.

This devotion was pronounced good & profitable, and recommended by both the Sacro Collégia de propagánda fide, the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith – The Holy Office – and by Pope Clement XII. Pope Innocent X declared that they are from God.
