Respect the Protection Our Flag Represents

The American flag became official in 1777. At the time it was adopted as our national flag, no meaning was given to the colors used. The same colors were, however, used in the Seal of the United State of America in 1782. The colors were given specific meaning. Secretary of State, Charles Thompson declared,

“The colors of the pales (vertical stripes) are those used in the flag of the United States of America; White signified purity and innocence, Red, hardiness and valor, and Blue, the color of the Chief signified vigilance, perseverance and justice.”

There is a list of rules for the American Flag which shows how it was respected and venerated from the founding of our country until to this day. Today, however, history isn’t properly taught in many instances which is probably why people living in this country’s freedom, under the protection of this flag, so often disrespect the flag that waves over their ‘right’ to express themselves.

“No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America.” Section 8
“The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing.” Section 8j
I’m pretty sure this means stomping on the flag, burning the flag, and doing whatever other despicable things to the flag is a sin against this country.
